Poll: More Americans say Trump is taking US in wrong direction

A majority of Americans said in a new poll that they think President Trump is pushing the country in the wrong direction.

Fifty-six percent of those polled by CNN say Trump is leading the U.S. in the wrong direction, while 38 percent disagree.

{mosads}The president’s approval rating held steady in October, the poll noted, with 57 percent disapproving of the job Trump is doing as commander in chief and 37 percent approving.

A majority of Americans, 54 percent, do not approve of how Trump is managing his relationship with congressional Republicans. Thirty-two percent said they approve of the president’s approach.

The new results come as the administration pushes for a tax overhaul after unveiling the framework last month.

They survey of 1,010 adults was conducted by SRSS from Oct. 12-15 and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
