Priebus says he’s returning to old law firm

Reince Priebus, President Trump’s embattled former White House chief of staff, will return to work at his old law firm, he told Politico on Tuesday.

Priebus, who was forced out of the White House amid bitter feuding among different factions in the administration, will rejoin Michael Best and Friedrich LLP in Wisconsin as its president and chief strategist.

A native of Wisconsin, Priebus worked at the same law firm before joining the Republican National Committee (RNC). He eventually left his position as RNC chairman for a brief stint as Trump’s chief of staff.

Priebus told Politico that he will use his position to advise clients on how to work alongside Trump, and will give speeches pushing the president before the 2018 election. However, he said that he will not register himself as a lobbyist or take work for foreign governments.

The former chief of staff was replaced by John Kelly, who began working for the administration as the secretary of Homeland Security.
