Maxine Waters rails against Trump at women’s convention
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) railed against President Trump on Saturday during a speech at the Women’s Convention in Detroit, calling him “indecent and deplorable” and leading chants of “impeach 45.”
“This is a man with no good values, no good intentions and no good respect,” Waters told a crowd of over 4,000 attendees. “We cannot afford to be shut down or shut up by any man, particularly not one as indecent and deplorable as Donald Trump.”

Waters said she was “thrilled” to take part in the post-inaugural Women’s March on Washington, whose organizers also put together the three-day activism conference this weekend.
The congresswoman led the crowd of activists in a chant of “Impeach 45!” according to the Huffington Post.
“Donald Trump is the most dishonorable and despicable human being to ever serve in the office of the president,” Waters said, reportedly earning a standing ovation. Waters has previously said that Trump was “the most deplorable person” she had ever met.
Waters is well-known for her harsh statements against Trump, including her claim that she could “guarantee” the president was actively colluding with Russia.
Waters is the featured speaker at the convention after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) gave up his spot to visit Puerto Rico as it recovers from Hurricane Maria.
