14 more lawsuits filed in response to Las Vegas shooting
Makers and sellers of bump stocks and the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino are among those being sued in more than a dozen new lawsuits filed on behalf of victims and witnesses of the October mass shooting in Las Vegas that left 58 dead and hundreds injured.
The Associated Press reports that 14 new lawsuits were filed Wednesday, adding to at least three others filed after the mass shooting, the deadliest in U.S. history.
Bump stocks, which were found in the hotel room of Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock, significantly increase the rate of fire of semi-automatic rifles. The lawsuit comes as Democratic and some Republican lawmakers are calling for legislation banning bump stocks.

Some of the suits seek to prove that Mandalay Bay, from where Paddock, 64, shot down on concertgoers, holds partial blame for allowing him to stockpile more than 20 weapons in his hotel room.
Live Nation, the concert’s organizer, should have had more clearly marked exits, other filings say.
Paddock died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound before police authorities breached the door to his hotel room.
