Steyer to run Times Square billboards in campaign to impeach Trump
Democratic mega-donor Tom Steyer on Monday said he’ll run Times Square billboards as part of his ongoing campaign to impeach President Trump.
The signs will show how many individuals have signed a petition to impeach Trump, which the campaign said has received more than 2.5 million signatures.
“Donald Trump has more than met the standard for impeachment, and yet, Congress sits idly by while Trump continues to make dangerous decisions on behalf of our country,” Steyer said in a statement.
{mosads}“It is time to give a voice to the millions of Americans who want a better future for themselves and their families.”
The advertisement will run until New Year’s Eve and will appear for 10 minutes each hour, the campaign said.
Steyer earlier this month announced that he would put an additional $10 million into the campaign, bringing his total spending to $20 million.
The campaign last week launched an ad attacking the Republican tax-reform legislation.
“It’s up to all of us to stand up to this president, not just for impeachable offenses, but also to demand a country where everyone has a real chance to succeed,” says Steyer in the ad. “Join us. Your voice matters.”
