Trump arrives at Mar-a-Lago for Thanksgiving break

President Trump arrived at his Mar-A-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., on Tuesday evening for Thanksgiving break, where he will spend the holiday with first lady Melania Trump and their son Barron.

The first family arrived at Palm Beach International Airport at 5:45 p.m. after a “slightly bumpy” flight on Air Force One, according to a White House pool report.

Trump reportedly spent several minutes greeting and signing autographs for cheering supporters gathered at the airport before the presidential motorcade took off for the resort.

The motorcade passed a number of people holding signs, including ones that read “Welcome home President Trump” and “Get off my lawn,” before dropping the president and his family off at the resort around 6:28 p.m., according to the pool report.

Mar-A-Lago has served as a diplomatic destination for foreign leaders meeting with Trump. Among those who have visited the private resort are Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The first family is expected to return to Washington on Sunday.
