Theresa May accidentally tagged by Trump: He should ‘think before he tweets’

Theresa May Scrivener, a British woman who was tagged accidentally by President Trump in a tweet meant for British Prime Minister Theresa May, says that the president should “think before he tweets.”

“I think that he should think before he tweets. Maybe look at the name he’s tweeting and just check,” said Scrivener in an interview with Time Magazine. “It is amazing to think the most powerful man in the world can make such a simple mistake and you know he could end up pushing the wrong button.”

Trump tagged Scrivener in a tweet Wednesday that was meant for the British Prime Minister, who had criticized the president’s retweets of a right-wing British nationalist group.

Trump told the prime minister “don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!”

The president replaced the misaddressed tweet 20 minutes later. Trump has made similar mistakes in the past.

“I know Donald Trump will not apologize, I don’t even know he’s done anything wrong. I don’t know if he realizes the impact of his mistake,” said Scrivener, who told Time her house had been surrounded by reporters in the aftermath of the incident.

“I think he should concentrate on running his country and not ours,” Scrivener said of Trump’s mention of the United Kingdom in his comments. “I think he should maybe get off Twitter and start focusing on whats going on around him a little bit more.”
