Hillary Clinton: San Francisco mayor’s death ‘a terrible loss’
Hillary Clinton on Tuesday called San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee’s death a “terrible loss” for the city.
Mayor Ed Lee’s death is a terrible loss for the people of San Francisco. He was a good friend & a vocal advocate for the city he served & loved. My thoughts are with his family.

Lee died Tuesday at the age of 65 after suffering a heart attack.
Lee became mayor when his predecessor, Gavin Newsom, left to become the state’s lieutenant governor in January 2011. He won a full term that November, and was reelected in 2015.
