Palin’s son arrested on burglary and assault charges
Former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s son was arrested Sunday for a second time on domestic violence charges.
Track Palin, 28, was charged with three counts of felony burglary, misdemeanor reckless assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief and arraigned Sunday, according to an Associated Press report.
Palin was also arrested in January 2016 on domestic violence and weapons charges after allegedly hitting his girlfriend.
{mosads}At the time of the 2016 arrest, Sarah Palin faced backlash for tying her son’s charges to then-President Barack Obama’s treatment of veterans, accusing Obama of not providing proper care for veterans.
“I guess it’s kind of the elephant in the room because my own family going through what we’re going through today, with my son, a combat vet, having served in the striker brigade fighting for you all America in the war zone,” the former Alaska governor said during a campaign rally for then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. “I can certainly relate with other families who feel these ramifications of some PTSD and some of the woundedness that our soldiers do return with.”
