Former President George H.W. Bush celebrated 73 years of marriage with his wife Barbara Bush on Saturday.
The 73rd anniversary marks the longest marriage of any presidential couple in U.S. history, followed by former president and first lady Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter at 71 years.
Bush, 93, is also the longest-living president in U.S. history as of November. {mosads}
Bush became president in 1989 after serving as the vice president for Ronald Reagan, and was defeated in the 1992 election by Bill Clinton. His son George W. Bush served as president from 2001-2009.
