More than $100K raised for Moore accuser whose home was destroyed in suspicious fire
In less than 24 hours, more than $120,000 was raised in a GoFundMe for the Roy Moore accuser whose house burned down in a suspicious fire.
Former Obama staffer Katie Jacobs Stanton started the crowdfunding page for Tina Johnson, whose family lost their home and belongings in a fire that is currently being investigated for arson.
Johnson was one of several women who accused former GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexual misconduct.
The GoFundMe originally had a fundraising goal of $10,000, which was eventually upped to $100,000. By 8 p.m. E.T. Saturday, the total raised was $124,136, contributed by 4,042 people.
“Overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of so many big-hearted Americans who have helped Tina Johnson rebuild her home and life,” Stanton tweeted.
Overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of so many big-hearted Americans who have helped Tina Johnson rebuild her home and life. So far, we have raised over $36,000. I’m in touch with Ms. Johnson and the @gofundme team on next steps. #LoveTrumpsHate ❤️

The proceeds from the fundraiser will help Johnson pay to rebuild her home and for other living expenses, according to the fundraiser description. {mosads}
Johnson came forward in November alleging that Moore groped her in the 1990s. Johnson’s story was one of at least nine that roiled Moore’s Senate campaign and drew national attention. One of his accusers said he touched her sexually when she was just 14 years old. Moore narrowly lost the election to Democrat Doug Jones.
“It has always been dangerous and risky for women (and men) to speak out against sexual harassment,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Today, this danger reached a disturbing level. Tina’s home burned down and she lost everything. An arson investigation is underway.”
The fundraiser has been shared more than 6,000 times on Facebook, and has been shared by other ex-Obama staffers.
