Oprah, George Clooney paid for water for march, organizers say
George Clooney and Oprah Winfrey paid for all the free water provided to protesters at the “March For Our Lives” anti-gun violence rally in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, event organizers told NBC News.
Winfrey, Clooney and his wife, Amal Clooney, each donated $500,000 to the effort demanding legislative action on gun control following the deadly Parkland, Fla. school shooting in February.

{mosads}The Academy Award-winning actor and his wife, a prominent lawyer and human rights advocate, told ABC News they were “so inspired by the courage and eloquence of these young men and women” from the Parkland high school where 17 students and faculty were killed, and will attend the D.C. event on Saturday.
Among the other Hollywood heavy-hitters who matched the Clooneys in their donations were film directors Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg. Spielberg also joined one of the marches.
The “March For Our Lives” is expected to bring nearly half a million protesters to the capital in a daylong event featuring speeches from survivors and gun control advocates demanding measures to curb gun violence.
