Clinton tweets praise for students taking part in anti-gun violence rallies
Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton tweeted her support and encouragement to those taking part in the March for Our Lives rallies against gun violence Saturday.
“Listening to the students from Parkland and across the country today is a reminder of what is possible when our future is in the right hands, and when we match inspiration with determination,” Clinton tweeted.

Clinton joined a growing chorus of Democratic figures who voiced their support for the student-led movement on Saturday that was launched in the weeks after the Parkland, Fla., school shooting where 17 people were killed last month.
The former first lady’s message of support came shortly after a similar tweet from former President Barack Obama, who said he and his wife Michelle were “inspired” by the movement that is calling on lawmakers act on gun violence.
Parkland students have become the public face of the movement, who are speaking at the Washington rally on Saturday and appear frequently on news networks to condemn the influence of gun lobby contributions to lawmakers and push for congressional action on banning certain weapons.
Clinton has voiced her support for the Second Amendment while pushing for “commonsense” gun reforms to keep weapons out of the hands of dangerous individuals.
