Trump wrote back to 8-year-old seeking kidney for dad

An 8-year-old boy says President Trump wrote back to his letter asking for help in acquiring a kidney for his father.

Eight-year-old Fore Putnam and his father, Trae Putnam, told Fox News in an interview Friday that Trump wrote to express his support and promised to do what he could.

“I have shared your letter with my staff, and they are working to see what help they can provide,” Trump wrote.

The boy’s letter, addressed to the president, his daughter Ivanka Trump and Santa Claus, said the life-saving kidney for his father was all he wanted for Christmas.

“My dad has been sick for a long time, he has to get a kidney to live,” Putnam wrote in his letter to the president. “And he needs to get a job again so he can play. My mom just left so if my dad gets better she might come back … please help.”

His father, who has been on the kidney transplant list for three years, said the letter gave him hope and made him “smile again.”

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has frequently read letters from grade schoolers addressed to the president during press briefings, including one that led to an 11-year-old mowing the White House lawn.
