Elizabeth Warren visits Obama portraits
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) recently visited the newly unveiled portraits of former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama, sharing photos of her experience on Twitter Friday.
Warren, who visited the paintings with her husband, Bruce Mann, praised the former president, saying that the portrait “captures the vibrant hope he brought to even the toughest challenges.”
“Last month, Bruce & I visited the [National Portrait Gallery] to see the stunning new portraits of the Obamas,” she tweeted.

The portraits were unveiled at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in February. Former President Obama’s portrait was painted by artist Kehinde Wiley, who is known for his depictions of African-American men. Baltimore-based artist Amy Sherald painted the former first lady’s portrait.
