A group of students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School released a music video on Friday to commemorate the 17 people who were killed in the shooting.
The video is for a song called “Shine” composed by two of the students that was released in March. The video for “Shine” was filmed entirely within the Parkland school where the shooting took place on Feb. 14.
It features family and friends posing with photographs of each of the 17 victims of the shooting.

All proceeds from downloads and views of the video will go to Shine MSD, a nonprofit group set up by families from the high school to “support programs that provide healing through the arts.”
The song was written by two students from the Stoneman Douglas drama club, Sawyer Garrity and Andrea Peña, a few days after the shooting took place and was released on iTunes on March 16.
The lyrics of the song focus on the resilience of the students after the shooting and the music video features a call for people to get involved. Many of the student survivors from the shooting became outspoken advocates for increased gun control following the attack.
In March, students organized the “March for Our Lives” rally for gun reform in Washington, D.C., that was mirrored in multiple other cities across the world.
