Woman who had affair with Mo. governor: ‘I didn’t want this’
The woman who had an affair with Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens (R) on Monday said that she wishes her allegations hadn’t caused a political firestorm but stands by her testimony of the encounter to state lawmakers.
“I didn’t want this,” the woman said during an interview with KSDK-TV in St. Louis, according to USA Today. “I really wasn’t out to get anyone. I really was just trying to live my life.”
The woman, whose name and face were not shown on the broadcast, says Greitens initiated a sexual encounter in 2015, a year before his election, and took nude photos of her without her consent.

Greitens, who admitted to having the affair with his former hairdresser, was facing criminal invasion-of-privacy charges for allegedly threatening to release the photos until prosecutors dropped their case earlier this month.
The governor’s accuser maintained that her testimony before a Missouri House committee investigating the charges was completely true.
“They were hard to talk about — really, really, really hard to talk about, some of the things — but I absolutely stand by it,” she said.
The committee found that the accusations and testimonies regarding the story were highly credible, and submitted a report that sparked the beginning of impeachment proceedings against Greitens.
Over the course of a 30-day special session, state House members will decide whether to approve articles of impeachment over the abuse accusations and a separate felony charge related to allegations that Greitens improperly released a donor list to aid his campaign fundraising efforts.
