Maxine Waters to Giuliani: I join Yankees fans in saying ‘BOO!’
Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters (Calif.) taunted President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani on Thursday, saying she is with those New York Yankees fans who booed him at a recent game.
“Giuliani, I join with the crowd of 46,583 fans in Yankee Stadium from earlier this week: BOO!” Waters said.
{mosads}The former New York City mayor was attending the Yankees’ Memorial Day game on his birthday. When the announcer mentioned Giuliani was in attendance on his 74th birthday, the crowd booed.
Giuliani downplayed the incident, claiming he took the fans’ reaction as a compliment.
“No, no. I know Yankee fans. They boo you when they love you,” he said.
Waters’s jab at Giuliani comes after he mocked her for calling for Trump’s impeachment.
Giuliani dared her to keep calling for impeachment, arguing that voters would reject Democrats in this year’s midterm elections.
“The people who will decide this are the people of the United States in the 2018 election,” Giuliani said on Fox News. “And, boy, they are switching fast and Democrats are running for cover.”
Waters has been a fierce critic of the president and called for his impeachment after his decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal earlier this month.
Giuliani joined Trump’s legal team in April.
