Kasich to return to New Hampshire for post-midterms visit

Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) will travel to New Hampshire this week to meet with supporters for the first time since the midterm elections.

The governor will attend a luncheon on Thursday at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics in Manchester and then meet with supporters in Concord. He will later speak at the Loeb School of Communications in Manchester.

{mosads}Kasich has made multiple trips to New Hampshire in recent months, stoking speculation about an independent presidential bid or a primary challenge to President Trump in 2020.

New Hampshire hold’s the first in the nation primary during each presidential election cycle.

The term-limited governor who will leave the governor’s mansion in January has remained one of Trump’s most regular GOP critics, hitting the president over his tone and his policies.

A 2016 presidential candidate, Kasich has yet to rule out a 2020 bid. Kasich came in second place in New Hampshire in 2016 while Trump came in first.

Republican Mike DeWine won the state’s gubernatorial election last week, defeating Democrat Richard Cordray in the contest to replace Kasich.
