Parkland survivors criticize Louis CK for joking about shooting
Survivors and those close to the victims of the mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school criticized comedian Louis C.K. on Monday after he mocked survivors of the massacre in a recent stand-up set.
C.K., who admitted last year to masturbating in front of women without their consent, ridiculed the survivors of the shooting for their gun control advocacy and public appearances, according to leaked audio of the set.
{mosads}”Hey Louis CK — since you like making fun of me and other Parkland survivors behind closed doors, I’m right here if you want to talk. Just try to keep it in your pants, ok?” Aalayah Eastmond, a survivor of the shooting, wrote on Twitter.

Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter was killed in the shooting and son survived, invited C.K. to try out his “new pathetic jokes” on him and his family.
To anyone who knows Louis CK, please deliver this message for me. My daughter was killed in the Parkland shooting. My son ran from the bullets. My wife and I deal with loss everyday. Why don’t you come to my house and try out your new pathetic jokes? https://t.co/tZI9ThSciR

“Louis C.K, although taking jello shots & eating mushrooms might have been ideal for you when you were 18, that is not the luxury that we have after having to see our friends and classmates in caskets because of preventable gun violence,” tweeted Kyra Parrow, who graduated from the Parkland high school earlier this year.

In February, a gunman killed 17 people and injured several others at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Many survivors became outspoken advocates for stricter gun laws, hosting the March for Our Lives rally in Washington, D.C., in March.
In audio that leaked online late Sunday, C.K. joked that the students didn’t become “interesting” because they survived a mass shooting.
“You’re not interesting because you went to a high school where kids got shot. Why does that mean I have to listen to you?” C.K. said as audience members are heard laughing along.
“How does that make you interesting?” he continued. “You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I got to listen to you talking.”
C.K.’s material on the Parkland students and other subjects was widely circulated online on Monday.
