Gallup polling finds congressional approval fell to an all-time low last year

The average approval rating of Congress throughout 2012 was the lowest in Gallup’s 38 years of asking the question.

Congress earned an average approval rating of 15 percent over the course of 2012, Gallup revealed on Friday.

{mosads}And 2013 isn’t shaping up to be any better: the polling organization found Congress’s approval rating is now 14 percent.

The lowest individual job approval rating in Gallup’s history was 10 percent, measured in August of last year

“In the broadest sense, one bit of good news for the new Congress is that its current job approval ratings are so low that they have practically nowhere to go but up,” Gallup said.
