President Obama has started a disturbing trend of protectionist trade policies, as two Canadian unions are pushing for “buy Canadian” policies inspired by the “buy American” provisions in the U.S. economic stimulus package, Pejman Yousefzadeh writes. The conservative Blue Dog Coalition of House Democrats is in the tank for Obama now that Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) has said they will stand by him on the stimulus despite reservations about its spending provisions, Brian Faughnan declares.
