Democrats are stuck in a holding pattern for the 2010 Texas Senate race until Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R) decides if and when she wants to resign to pursue the governor’s mansion, brownsox notes, as the timing of Hutchison’s resignation would determine the timing of a special election for the seat. If Republicans want a solid relationship with Democrats, they need to compromise on the pending economic stimulus package, Meteor Blades suggests.
