Rep. Hilda Solis (D-Calif.) is the kind of Labor secretary choice that unions will rejoice around, since Solis is a big backer of the Employee Free Choice Act and has received $121,000 in campaign contributions from labor groups, writes Amanda Carpenter. Even Rev. Al Sharpton has come out against the Employee Free Choice Act, opposing it because it would do away with secret ballots required when workers hold votes to unionize, writes Matt Lewis.
