Andrew Sullivan shouldn’t be surprised that President-elect Obama picked a gay marriage opponent to give the invocation at the inauguration since Obama has always been a blank slate poised to go back on previous positions, writes Pejman Yousefzadeh. Obama has also disappointed his liberal netroots supporters by choosing Sen. Ken Salazar (D-Colo.) as his Interior secretary, writes Yousefzadeh. Salazar’s backers include the oil and mining industries, which environmentalists loath, the blogger adds.
