When the House approved the automaker bailout on Wednesday, 10 Republicans, all from Michigan or surrounding states, voted for it, notes Amanda Carpenter. The suggestion by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Silvestre Reyes (D-Texas) that the current CIA director and director of national intelligence remain in the Obama administration took some guts but also some duplicity, since Democrats such as Reyes have done nothing to defend the intelligence policies of the Bush administration, writes Carol Platt Liebau.
