The best defense for Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) against corruption charges is to claim insanity and to use his stated ambition to run for president in 2016 as evidence, writes Josh Marshall. In the “most corrupt state” sweepstakes, the contenders are Illinois, Alaska, Louisiana and Rhode Island, each of which has had lawmakers either convicted or indicted on corruption charges while in office during the past decade, according to TPM readers.
