Two thirds of young voters supported Barack Obama over John McCain, and up to 54 percent of eligible young voters went to the polls, which is the highest turnout number for that demographic since 1972, writes Meteor Blades. The permanent majority that Republicans crowed about during the Bush presidency has been destroyed by GOP incompetence, botched war efforts, corruption in the Justice Department and the possible collapse of the financial system, writes Hunter.
