John McCain’s campaign is on life support, as the latest state polls show him behind in his must-win states of Pennsylvania, Florida and Indiana, writes Nate Silver. For Senate Democrats to get to 60 seats, they need to win in Georgia, Kentucky or Mississippi, where their candidates each trail by about two percentage points, Silver writes.
