The reason the traditional media want Barack Obama to win is that they think he’ll institute the Fairness Doctrine and other media regulations that will restore the old media environment and help old outlets financially, writes Mark Steyn. With the jury unable to reach a verdict in Sen. Ted Stevens’s (R-Alaska) corruption trial after a couple days of deliberation, there’s a chance that Stevens could win his re-election race, get convicted and move aside to allow Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) to fill his seat, writes Stephen Spruiell.
