Barack Obama has had $66 million to spend for the final three weeks of the election, which is significantly more than the $24 million that John McCain has had, writes Jonathan Singer. But Obama’s fundraising has slowed down in October compared to September, which will force him to cut down on his $7 million-per-day spending rate, Singer adds. Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg has jumped out, 47 percent to 44 percent, over Rep. Michele Bachman (R-Minn.) in latest SurveyUSA poll of their congressional race, thanks largely to Bachmann’s suggestion that to be a liberal is to be “anti-American,” writes Singer.
