John McCain isn’t a great debater, perhaps because he relies more on emotion than on the data and evidence used by other Republicans, such as former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, writes Jennifer Rubin. McCain’s attacks on Barack Obama at the debate may have pleased conservatives, but they might not have had much of an effect on undecided voters, who are less informed and need more of an introduction to new issues, writes John Podhoretz.
