While John McCain was caught grimacing, grunting and rolling his eyes at Wednesday’s debate, Barack Obama refused to get rattled by attacks and again kept his cool, which helped him win the debate, writes Trapper John. Conservatives who blame Democrats for cheating and come up with other excuses for upcoming Republican losses this year are contributing to the length of time the GOP spends in the political wilderness, writes kos, who thinks that Republicans need to undertake the kind of reform he pushed Democrats to undergo after 2004.
