While Barack Obama’s campaign has distanced itself from Rev. Jesse Jackson’s remark about ending “decades of putting Israel’s interests first,” Obama himself has had ties to people less than friendly toward Israel, writes Ed Morrissey. Obama’s former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, honored Louis Farrakahn, an anti-Semite, while Weather Underground bomber William Ayers once donated to an ally of Yasser Arafat, notes Morrissey. The victory in the Canadian elections by the Conservative Party is relevant for Americans because it represents an endorsement of Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s support for more Western involvement in Afghanistan, writes Morrissey.
