Before 1995, the year that Barack Obama’s campaign says he met William Ayers, Obama went to college near the university where William Ayers’s taught, and Obama’s wife once worked at a law firm where Ayers’s wife interned, writes Andy McCarthy, who thinks that the ties between the two men are closer than most people think. John McCain, however, was right not to harp about Ayers at the debate, since that would have looked weird, writes Rich Lowry, who believes that voters will still take a closer look at Obama’s record before the election.
