John McCain, who doesn’t know much about finance and was in no position to further the bailout talks, has held the negotiations hostage to his political ambitions, writes John B. Judis. Undecided voters in the latest Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll think that Barack Obama would do a better job of handling the economic crisis than John McCain, though it’s still unclear why those voters are still on the fence, writes Michelle Cotttle.
