John McCain’s attempt to postpone Friday’s debate and focus instead on the economic crisis is a move that “permeates with political opportunism,” writes Sam Stein. McCain’s actions on the crisis have also been uneven, as he has endorsed the $700 billion bailout plan before reading it and then suspended his campaign to focus on the plan just as lawmakers closed in on a deal, notes the Post’s front page. If that’s how McCain acts when he is “focusing” on the economic crisis, then Bob Cesca worries about how McCain would operate when he is multitasking.
