TalkingPointsMemo

Josh Marshall has harsh criticism for debate moderator Charles Gibson. Marshall laments that the debate eschewed an extended discussion on issues for questions that “presumed the correctness of Republican agenda items,” such as guns, taxes and Iraq. He argues that Gibson posed mainly “gotcha” questions, which was bad mostly for Barack Obama but also for Hillary Clinton, whom Marshall says is the winner on points. Still, he thinks the debate, like “bittergate,” may not have much effect on the Pennsylvania primary.
