Democrats have built a healthy fundraising advantage over Republicans in the race for Congress, which is almost needed since Barack Obama decided against public financing and needs to spend time raising money for his own campaign, writes Josh Orton, who cites The Hill’s story Wednesday about Democratic congressional campaign fundraising. An analysis of swing state ad spending shows that Obama is focusing on winning the red states of Virginia, Missouri and Florida while McCain is focusing on winning Pennsylvania, a blue state, and keeping Iowa and New Mexico in the Republican column, writes Jonathan Singer. Both candidates are also spending heavily in Ohio and Colorado.
