A New York Times/CBS poll shows Barack Obama is ahead of John McCain 49 percent to 44 percent, thanks to a combination of President Bush’s lack of popularity and the view among voters that Obama is the “change” candidate, writes DemFromCT. Obama’s road to victory is more likely to go through Colorado, New Mexico and Virginia – states where he is ahead or tied with McCain – instead of the traditional swing states of Florida and Ohio, where the Republican has slight leads, writes kos.
