Even before Sarah Palin (R) became Alaska’s governor, a judge handling the divorce between her sister and a state trooper had to warn Palin not to meddle with the case, notes Josh Marshall. Palin is now under scrutiny for allegedly firing the trooper’s supervisor because he refused to fire the trooper. Several reporters are calling out John McCain’s campaign for suggesting that Barack Obama is sexist for using the phrase “lipstick on a pig”, noting that McCain has used that saying before, Marshall writes.
