Barack Obama is “back with a roar,” attacking John McCain for his domestic policies and ties to President Bush, according to the front page of the Post. Economists need a new mantra, since more Americans are working harder and smarter in the 2000s while living standards are failing to increase, writes Jared Bernstein. Obama’s tax plan helps the lower- and middle-income voters who are suffering from that disconnect, while McCain’s policies would only exacerbate it, Bernstein adds.
