John McCain has already gone further with his response to the Russia-Georgia situation than what’s been considered appropriate for presidential candidates, dispatching his own faux diplomatic delegation, being in phone contact with the key players and working against the efforts of a president from his own party, writes Josh Marshall. With McCain proposing to give $2 billion to 10 companies in his new technology plan, Marshall wonders whether lobbyists helped the Republican put the plan together.
