Michael McCaul (R-Texas) has put forth a measure that would prohibit so-called “Monuments to Me” earmarks that fund buildings in home districts bearing names of congressional members, writes John Campbell. Some existing monuments include an airport named after Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), a highway named after Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) and a gold center named after Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.).
