The one unifying theme of John McCain’s attacks on Barack Obama is their focus on trying to influence the media and those inside the Beltway, writes Jonathan Singer, who suggests that’s a function of the many lobbyists on the Republican’s campaign. Though Obama’s ad countering McCain’s attack as “baseless” is more effective than using humorous one-liners, Obama could show a bit more passion in pushing back, writes Todd Beeton.
