It’s puzzling that Congressional Republicans didn’t block the housing bill and that President Bush is going to sign it at the same time they’re allowing Democrats to block a discussion on domestic offshore oil drilling, writes a frustrated Andy McCarthy. While former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) is denying the National Enquirer’s report that he had an affair, Jonah Goldberg notes that Edwards, one of the country’s most famous trial lawyers, isn’t suing the tabloid for publishing lies about him.
