John McCain’s new ad that blames Barack Obama, an opponent of more domestic offshore oil drilling, for increased gas prices is very good and effective, according to Mark Hemingway. If Robert Novak’s report that McCain will announce his veep choices this week is true, the media will be turned off by the news because it will rain on Obama’s week abroad, writes Kathryn Jean Lopez.
