Barack Obama’s fiscal plans won’t work, because the wealthy will be able to find loopholes to avoid the tax increases Obama is calling for to fund his proposed $344 billion annual spending increase, writes Pejman Yousefzadeh, who links to an analysis by the Cato Institute of the presidential candidates’ fiscal plans. While Obama is the candidate who raised a whopping $52 million last month, it’s the Republicans who have more cash on hand and John McCain who will get an $80 million boost from public financing, notes Yousefzadeh, who is confident that the Republicans will have enough to compete.
