Retired Gen. Wesley Clark received a hearty ovation from liberal bloggers at Netroots Nation Thursday for questioning the relevance of John McCain’s military service and for saying that the country won’t believe Democrats on national security until other Democrats start defending them, writes Todd Beeton in a Netroots Nation liveblog. Also at the convention, Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean thanked Barack Obama for embracing the 50-state strategy, thanked the liberal online movement for fueling his 2004 presidential campaign and said that the netroots were picking up the torch, Beeton writes.
