Barack Obama is leading John McCain in national polls by an average of just 2.7 percentage points, which is a margin smaller than the ones that Bill Clinton and George W. Bush held when they won their presidential elections, notes Patrick Ruffini. Though “netroots” is now accepted as a word in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the liberal bloggers do not represent all members of the Democratic Party, as former officials recently knocked bloggers for emphasizing Obama’s vote on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act overhaul instead of his positions on other issues, writes Matt Moon, who enjoys the party dissension.
